The time to embrace your inner Eboy is now!

In an era where social media is dominated by Tik Tok, the rise of the Eboy look has become increasingly popular. If you open the app, chances are you’re going to see many variations of this look.
So, what is a the Eboy look?
The look is characterized by its emo-influenced appearance. The typical outfit has skater-boy, goth, as well as, a ton of influences coming from k-pop style. With this look, it is really common to see dyed hair, graphic makeup, and countless accessories to complete the look.
How to achieve this look:
1. Hairstyles
While hairstyle is not as important as the rest of the outfit, long hair is typically need to complete the classic look. I would recommend growing out your hair so that it is 3-4 inches long so that you can maximize your options with your hair. My personal favourite hairstyle is the middle part, which can easily be achieved for those of you with straight hair. Simply wet your hair and split your hair right down the middle so that there’s an even segment of hair on each side. You can also never go wrong with going with a perm, which is another super popular hairstyle with the Eboy look right now.

2. Shirt/Upper Torso
This is really where you get to play around with what works for you. Here, I’ll give you my opinion on some of the most popular combinations of clothes that you can either mimic or adjust according to what’s in your closet.
Layering an oversized tee

With oversized tees, there are two really common routes that you can go. First, a simple oversized tee is a classic look that has stormed the internet. Usually these shirts have some sort of graphic on them (i.e. Thrasher tees), but any oversized tee will work. If you want to go one step further, you can layer a stripped long-sleeve shirt under your oversized tee. Either way, an oversized tee is an essential part of creating an Eboy look.

Crewneck + Collared Shirt
Another personal favourite pairing of mine is the combination of a crewneck sweater over a collared shirt. With the crewneck, you have a lot of freedom with colour, design, and fit. For your collared shirt though, you should try to contrast whatever sweater you decide to wear. For example, if you go with a black crewneck, a white collared shirt would work best!
3. Bottoms
With pants, you have quite a few options. First, a lot of people choose to go simple with a pair of nicely fitting jeans. Since this is a staple in most people’s closets, and you already probably have a pair, this is a nice start if you’re looking to see if the Eboy look is something for you. Cargo khakis are also super popular right now and may be a really nice contrast to your outfit if what you’re wearing contains a lot of darker colours (such as black, dark blue, dark green or even shades of gray). When choosing a pair of pants, either cuffed or uncuffed bottoms will work – it really is a personal preference. A cuffed pair of pants may be nice if you’re looking to show off your physique and/or have a really cool pair of socks the world needs to see! A uncuffed pair of pants (or even a wide-legged pant) may complete your look if you’re trying to go for the care-free, skater oversized look! Again, experiment with both and do what works with your aesthetic. As a side note, I personally try to sway away from huge rips in my pants, but if that is something you like, you can 100% go for it!

4. Shoes
My favourite part of any good outfit is the shoes. With an Eboy look, I would go for a darker, clunkier shoe or classic sneaker. Really fantastic clunky shoes include Doc Martens. If that’s not your style, any large black boot works! Sneakers have also become a staple in a lot of Eboy-inspired outfits. Converse high-tops and classic Vans are some skater shoes that are relatively inexpensive and make for a perfect everyday shoe!
5. Accessories
Perhaps what separates a good outfit with a great outfit are the accessories – this is really where you get the chance to showcase your personality and flare. Eboy looks are typically accessory-heavy, there are accessories pretty much anywhere that you can think of. I’ll list some of my favourites when it comes of Eboy looks, but depending on your taste, play around with these and see what works with your personal taste and comfort level.

Rings
Rings my personal favourite accessory, just because there are so many different options with rings. For an Eboy look, I would recommend getting at least one ring, and seeing how you feel. The type of ring really depends – I like minimalistic, black rings but others enjoy large, chunky rings that scream personality. Either way, start with one ring and see how it feels, then adjust accordingly.

Necklace
Necklaces add much needed contrast to Eboy outfits and just look good overall. Choose something in gold or silver, anything that you really like to be honest. Regarding the length, choose something that sits a little lower than your collarbones – feel free to layer several different sizes for optimum depth.
Wallet Chains

Wallet Chains have become popular with the rise of the Eboy look, so it is only fitting to include them on this list. These are great for adding a pop of colour to solid colour pants, and look especially great when you wear them in conjunction with other accessories! Most wallet chains are pretty similar, so choose one that you like it terms of look, weight, and overall feel
While a newer style, Eboy fashion is something that will probably be around for quite a while. With that in mind, it may be worth spending a few bucks to bring your style to the next level with the Eboy look!
